Deftly combining the art of photography with the challenges of cutting edge expeditions, Jimmy Chin’s photographs are a reflection of his personal exploration and a unique perspective into the world that he travels and experiences. In his inaugural Jackson Hole fine art exhibition, Chin’s work brings perspective – not only to the extreme landscapes and airy locations that are his passion but to the cultures that have been shaped by these landscapes and the people who dare to climb and ski in these locations. From the Karakoram to Mali to Everest and beyond, Chin has traveled the globe, shooting from some of the most inaccessible terrain in the world, all in an attempt to arrest images that go beyond the ambition of the athlete and wanderlust of the explorer. Images that give the audience a glimpse into remote cultures, distant lands and the world of extreme athletes, ultimately giving perspective into the human potential and our own culture.
